Copying stuff off a sky+ box
Ok, I'm trying to find out how to copy stuff from a sky+ box as mines going. Sky's Ts and Cs advise its fine to copy to DVD they just don't allow you to copy across onto another hard drive (though it seems there ways if doing that anyway). Apparently wiping your job over everything doesn't help either.

Problem is I don't have a DVD writer since my little one snapped the one on the laptop. Can you record direct to an external one if inbuy one or does it have to go through software on a laptop to do it? Google doesn't seem to help with this and not do sky forums but generally you lot are more helpful anyway!

Thanks in advance

Screw that! Thanks very much for your help.

As Joe said, the only way is with a DVD recorder and you have to copy it in normal running time, the quality won't be as good either

A laptop DVD drive won't do - you need a DVD recorder that can accept AV inputs, such as:
